RugbyWA was saddened to learn of the passing of Doug ‘Jock’ Wright, a former state player and founding president of Wests Junior Rugby Club.

Nedlands has stolen the competition points from Associates, 17-14, in their Pindan Premier Grade Match of the Round at Allen Park.

As the Pindan Premier Grade turns the corner and heads for the second half of the season, the competition for finals heats up.

RugbyWA will run a clinic on Wednesday, 24 July to introduce coaches to new drills and skills to help engage players at training sessions. 

Having kept Pindan Premier Grade leaders Cottesloe scoreless in the curtain-raiser to the Emirates Western Force v British and Irish Lions, Nedlands will travel to Swanbourne hoping to inflict a similar result on Associates.

RugbyWA CEO Mark Sinderberry will brave the winter elements next week for the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout on Thursday, 20 June.

It was a disappointing result for the Emirates Western Force in their final performance prior to the June break, going down 28-13 to the NSW Waratahs at nib Stadium on Sunday.

Emirates Western Force lock/back-rower Hugh McMeniman has claimed one of the final six places in the Wallabies squad for the DHL Australia 2013 Lions Tour, along with Kurtley Beale, Digby Ioane, Pat McCabe, Peter Kimlin and Scott Sio.
