Western Australia has suffered a 12-8 defeat at the hands of NSW Country at the National Under 16 Championships in Sydney.
Having narrowly missed out to Queensland White (13-11) on Monday and comprehensively beaten by NSW Schools (48-8) on Tuesday, the long week of rugby clearly took its toll on the side, with the side unable to back up their strong performance from Day One.
With the Emirates Western Force's Matt Hodgson in the crowd, the WA side got off to a great start with Terrell Berryman touching down within the first five minutes.
However, NSW Country was quick to respond with a try of their own.
A Tom Ingram penalty wasn’t enough to progress the advantage enough the way of the West Australians, with NSW Country going on to claim the tight four-point victory.
The side will now play Victoria in the 7th/8th play-off tomorrow.
