ProfilePatrick Dellit is a hard-running utility back who embarks on his third season of Super Rugby. Having plied his trade with Eastern Suburbs as one of the leading players in Sydney’s Shute Shield, Dellit was picked up by the Emirates Western Force for the 2011 season. The 26-year-old made his debut in 2011 against the Lions and earned his first run-on start at fullback in the 27-19 win against the Brumbies. Hampered by a groin injury through 2012, Dellit was periodically sidelined throughout the year but managed four appearances off the bench before starting at outside centre in the side’s final match against the Crusaders. Dellit, who also represented NSW Country during 2012, will provide the Emirates Western Force with many options courtesy of his versatility – being able to play fullback and in the centres.Timeline2004Represents NSW Country Schoolboys; represents NSW Country; represents NSW Under 17’s; selected in the Newcastle Knights’ (rugby league) SG Ball squad.2005Represents Eastern Suburbs Colts that finish fifth in the Sydney club rugby competition.2006Plays his first full season with Eastern Suburbs First Grade in Sydney’s Shute Shield.2007A member of the Eastern Suburbs First Grade squad that qualifies for the Shute Shield grand final but is beaten 34-11 by Sydney University.2008Member of the Australian Sevens squad.2009Represents the Australian Legends at the Sri Lanka Rugby Sevens; member of the Australian Sevens squad.2010Represents Eastern Suburbs in Sydney’s Shute Shield, starting at fullback in their 42-17 elimination semi-final loss to Sydney University.2011Makes his Super Rugby debut in the 27-15 win over the Lions in Week Five; makes his first run-on start at fullback in the 27-19 win over the Brumbies in Week Nine; named the Emirates Western Force’s Rising Star.2012Plays five matches during the Super Rugby season but is hampered by a groin injury; represents NSW Country in their 26-13 loss to Sydney.
