Fantasy Rugby

Do you see yourself as a bit of a John Mitchell?

The ARU in conjunction with www.westernforce.com is offering you the opportunity to try to emulate the Emirates Western Force coach by guiding your own team through the Investec Super 14.

We’re giving you the opportunity to get started by winning one, by taking part in the Official Fantasy Rugby game of the 2010 Investec Bank Super 14 season.

The game kicks off with the first match, between the Blues and the Hurricanes, at 3.35pm WA time on Friday 12 February, 2010.

The competition runs through to the Investec Bank Super 14 Final on Saturday, 29 May, 2010.

How it works?

Players (managers) receive a Fantasy Budget to create their own ‘Fantasy Rugby Team’ of players from the Investec Bank Super 14 team squads.

You can do your homework and check out the form and background for all of the players who are involved in the 2010 Investec Bank Super 14 by accessing full player biographies for all of the Super 14 squads right here on rugby.com.au

While you are there, check out our comprehensive season previews for each of the 14 competing teams, which includes detailed statistics surrounding their histories, playing rosters, and stars to watch.

We’ve also got the full 13-year history of the competition covered, with full results and competition tables for every season, so you can check out the trends and the previous form of the players you select!

Once selected, your Fantasy team will then receive Fantasy Points for the real life performance of your selected players

The highest scoring fantasy coach each week (for all 16 weeks of the competition - which includes the semi-finals and final weekend) will win an Official Investec Super 14 Gilbert rugby ball signed by the captains of each of the Brumbies, Reds, Waratahs & Western Force.

Once the competition starts, the fun really begins. Managers can transfer players in and out of their squads, which puts the onus on you to keep up with the competition statistics to stay ahead of the game!

Promote a little banter and create or join a mini league and start competing against your mates!! To up the ante a little, players are able to enter their teams in more than one mini-league, so you can create your own to rival your mate’s league, join your work or school league and join your mate’s.

And remember, rugby.com.au will be providing detailed previews of every round of the 2010 Investec Bank Super 14 on every Tuesday of the tournament, plus full weekend reviews after every round, so keep your browser handy to stay connected with the inside word!
