Coaching Courses and Education

RugbyWA and the ARU has developed a coaching development system that not only provides an educational opportunity for coaches at all levels, but is also aimed at improving the standards of those who were committed to progressing through an accreditation pathway.  The new system comprises of three components:

  • Compulsory qualification – SmartRugby safety seminars
  • Optional education – Junior Player Pathway seminars, Foundation, Advanced seminars
  • Optional membership & accreditation– Level 1, 2, & 3 courses

OVERVIEW

Chart 1 (right) demonstrates the new options and pathways that coaches and referees now have available to them.  To maximise resources and learning opportunities some of the introductory refereeing and coaching seminars have been combined.

* Note: The dark arrows on Chart 1 represent RugbyWA’s recommended pathway threw the development system.

EXPLANATION

·         It is compulsory for all coaches to attend a SmartRugby seminar within the 24 months prior to attending an education seminar or enrolling into an accreditation course.
