“RugbyWA and the Emirates Western Force are delighted to announce Volvo Car Australia as a new platinum partner and sleeve sponsor for the next three years,” said Harris.

“Volvo are one of the premium global brands and are the perfect fit for the Emirates Western Force as a company that represents innovation and quality,” he said.

Alan Desselss, Managing Director, Volvo Car Australia, said Volvo was proud to form an association with the Emirates Western Force.

“The Emirates Western Force has proved to be one of the most exciting and forward-thinking teams in the Super 14 competition and we're delighted to be on board for what promises to be a successful campaign in 2009 and beyond,” said Desselss.

“The game has changed for Volvo.  We're no longer the 'bloody Volvo drivers' of yesterday – there's a new look, a new feel and a renewed enthusiasm for the brand, which is clearly represented by our great range of new products and subsequent sales success in recent years.”

Desselss highlighted the reasons Volvo chose to partner the Emirates Western Force.

“We see the power, the performance and the athleticism of the Emirates Western Force as a perfect fit for the new Volvo,” he said.

“We look forward to a long and rewarding partnership with the Force and its many supporters.”
