Mon 8th Mar: The coaches have revamped our outlook towards our game plans and policies. With that the squad is training with renewed vigour. The field session is very snappy and fluent. David Hill is looking like a really good addition to the squad and gives the tram a better balance.
Tues 9th Mar: Early weights session gives way to a large break in the day. Back at 2pm for the field run. Which Hannah appreciates, because it means she gets a little bit of respite in the middle of the day. We are having Andre and his girlfriend Mia over for dinner, so it gives Han a chance to do some prep, she is a very good cook. Training is again right on the money. The boys are obviously up for the Reds. We've had a strong defensive focus this week.
Wed 10th Mar: Day off.
Thurs 11th Mar: Very hot day. Defense and continuity high on the agenda training is high intensity and a lot of contact. It is clear as day that the team thinks that a win is not far away and we are doing everything right in practice we just need to start gelling on the field.
Fri 12th Mar: Travel day.
Sat 13th Mar: Captain’s Run is late in the day same time the as the game will be played. Most competitive game of touch thus far. Backs snuck away with a late victory with a penalty try. It's a no nonsense run; the boys are running like a well oiled machine.
Sun 14th Mar: Game day. Lack of space inhibits our ability to play a game of cricket. So we play a simulated slip cordon type of game. This gives the Teddys some kind of chance of winning. And finally we broke the drought.
The less I say about this game the better. Watching Sharpie and Hodgo play - I mean I know everyone out on the field is giving there all for the team – but these two guys are in everything every week, they don't make any mistakes, leave nothing in the tank, they are
obviously drained after the game and the loss seems to hurt that little bit more.
I hope the boys are seeing the same signs, and we come up to the mark this weekend.
