DANE Haylett-Petty, a former WA Schoolboys captain,was yet another bright young talent unveiled by the Emirates Western Force in the 2008 season.
The Durban-born outside back became only the second WA schools product to represent the Perth-based team, behind retired lock John Welborn, when he made his Super 14 debut against the Chiefs in May.
From there, the rangy and skilful back impressed in his two starting appearances against the Hurricanes and Brumbies before capping of a surprising first year of professional rugby with selection in the Australian Under 20s team for the Junior World Championships in Wales.
Haylett-Petty is an exciting future prospect and is a success story of the development pathways at RugbyWA. He will provide an able back-up to Wallaby Cameron Shepherd in the fullback role in 2009.
