NATHAN Sharpe has flourished in his role as captain of the Emirates Western Force and is unquestionably the key figurehead and cornerstone of the young Perth-based team.
A world class lineout technician with a strong running game and huge work ethic, Sharpe is considered worldwide to be in the top handful of players in the lock position and has captained the Wallabies on two occasions in his distinguished 74-match Test career.
In 2007 he was awarded the John Eales Medal for the country’s outstanding player and has signed on with the Emirates Western Force until the end of 2011.
‘Sharpie’ became only the ninth Australian player to register 100 Super caps when he achieved the milestone against the Stormers at Subiaco Oval midway through the 2008 season.
