Now a veteran of 119 Super Rugby games, Nathan Sharpe has flourished in his role as captain of the Emirates Western Force and is unquestionably the key figurehead and cornerstone of the Perth-based team.
A world class lineout technician with a strong running game and huge work ethic, Sharpe was awarded the John Eales Medal for the country’s outstanding player in 2007, was runner-up in that award in 2009, and has captained the Wallabies on two occasions in his distinguished 79-match Test career.
‘Sharpie’ became only the ninth Australian player to register 100 Super caps when he achieved the milestone against the Stormers at Subiaco Oval midway through the 2008 season. He has signed on with the Emirates Western Force until the end of 2011.
