NICK Cummins has long been regarded as one of the country’s leading Sevens players but his arrival on the Super 14 scene in 2008 suggests he has a long and prosperous future ahead of him in the 15-a-side version of the game.
With regular backline starters Haig Sare and Junior Pelesasa on the sidelines, Cummins was thrust into the deep end to make his debut against the Sharks in the opening round of the season. The immediate elevation paid dividends for the 21-year-old, who went from strength to strength to compile nine appearances in his rookie campaign.
A laid back character will genuine jet shoes, ‘Cummo’ is aiming to rebound from a late season leg injury to forge his way into a regular position in the Emirates Western Force backline after missing the team’s development tour of England.
