RugbyWA continues to feature a strong rugby pathway for our aspiring players in Western Australia.

Players from our local club and schools competitions are provided with state representative opportunities from the Under 15 age group.

The Junior Gold Cup is a national competition for both Under 15 and Under 17 age groups.

The best of Western Australian Schoolboys are selected for the annual National Schoolboys Championships with the best players from the tournament selected for the Australia Schoolboys side.

A Western Australian Under 20 side also competes in the annual Southern States Tournament, with selected players going on to represent the Combined States side in the National Under 20 tournament. This tournament provides a selection trial for the Australian Under 20 squad for the IRB Junior World Championship.

The RugbyWA Academy provides promising players within the local competitions with intensive skill and strength and conditioning programs, as well as player welfare workshops with the aim of preparing them for higher rugby honours and elite level competitions. Players such as Kyle Godwin, Dane Haylett-Petty, Zack Holmes, Justin Turner, Luke Burton, Ryan Hodson and Ryan Louwrens have all progressed from the RugbyWA Academy into the Western Force.
