The RugbyWA Women will want to write the wrongs from their round two loss against Queensland as they name their starting XV for Friday's clash against the Melbourne Rebels.
On field captain Natasha Haines will miss RugbyWA’s second match of the Super W season out with a wrist injury she sustained against Queensland.
Two young guns will enter the squad in Zion Taurima and Dallys Tini, Taurima apart of RugbyWA’s Future Force Ladies Academy is returning from a concussion while Tini is getting an opportunity to prove herself as Tui Cope will not be able travel with the side this week.
Tara Read will take the on field captain duties stepping up and taking the full role after co-captaining with Haines last weekend.
Head Coach Shannon Symon was happy with last weekend’s match and knows the team has a lot to work on moving forward.
“We took a lot away from the Queensland loss obviously we wanted to get the win but the girls proved they can play up to their level, there is a few things we need to tweak with our attack but we are generally pretty happy with how the girls played.”
“I was really impressed with our forward pack they stepped up and did all we asked, in fact there was a lot of players that really impressed so we will be looking for the same on Friday.”
“Our focus coming into this Melbourne match is just to focus on our game and how we play, once we get our processes right then we can start to look at what the other teams are doing on the pitch.”
The RugbyWA women take on Rebels Women in the opening leg of the double header at AAMI Stadium on Friday, March 8, at 2:10pm AWST, broadcast LIVE on Kayo Sports and streamed on RUGBY.com.au, with a replay on FOX SPORTS.
